Retaliation
Generally, federal law prevents employers from retaliating against employees for (1) filing charges about unfair work practices, (2) complaining to an employer about unfair work practices, or (3) participating in an investigation or legal proceeding about an unfair work practice.
Illegal retaliation can take many forms including, but not limited to-
- Demotions
- Disciplinary actions
- Transfers
- Terminations occurring after a complaint
